[Server] Planters

This mod adds "large planters" similar to Wurm Online.

Image

  • Planters can be made from wood or stone, you can see the recipes from your recipes window (N by default)
  • All existing crops and mushrooms can be planted in them
  • Planters can grow rice and reed (which usually need water, and don't grow in WO planters)
  • Planters can grow anywhere, in houses or in caves
  • Planters follow the same growth cycle and times as fields on your server and produce similar yields
    • If you use cropmod change your planters.config settings to match
  • During winter planters that are outside will be visually covered with snow, but that does not affect the crops growing in them
  • Planters can be painted by using 1kg of dye (only wood/stone parts will show the color)
Infected Planters

  • The infection is purely cosmetic (doesn't affect what's growing in them) - they will look decayed regardless of damage and use mycelium texture instead of dirt/farmland
  • Followers of black light gods can infect a normal planter
  • Followers of white light gods can cleanse an infected planter returning it to normal
  • Magic planters will emit red light instead of teal
Magic Mushrooms

  • Magic mushrooms are a special new mushroom, they are grown in their own type of planters and instead of sowing you throw some Source Salt in them
  • When growing while being untended there's a (configurable) chance that they will become wilted
  • When consumed magic mushrooms provide some (configurable) favor regeneration, karma and... other interesting effects
Stumps
  • Tree stumps can be dug up with a shovel, which will give you a stump item
  • Stumps are used to craft magic mushroom planters and can also be just used as decorations

Wicker Baskets

This mod also adds some decorative baskets - empty, with cloth and with mixed and magic mushrooms
  • All the above are craftable from shafts, thatch and some other items
  • Empty and with cloth version can be used as containers, the other 2 are purely decorative
  • Magic mushroom baskets emit light and particle effects
  • All baskets can be dyed, with the cloth parts dyeable separately
GM Commands
Those exist mostly for testing and are only available to GM level 5. Be careful if you decide to use them on live servers.

#planters test - Spawns test planters, with all possible variations
#planters delete - Deletes all planters on the server
#planters winter <on|off|disable> - overrides winter models to be on/off regardless of current time of the year, or disables the overrides
#planters paint <pink|random|remove> - paints all planters on the server (or clears paint)

First of all huge thanks to Angie for creating the silly amount of models that this mod uses.
We are currently sitting on 101 unique models and probably more to come. None of that would have been possible without her.

Requirements
This mod requires serverpacks + httpserver installed and correctly working on your server and serverpacks mod on the client. Without this you will see nothing but ?-bags.
Optional: If you have Better Farming (v2+) installed you will also get area actions for planters (sow, tend, harvest, cultivate)

On client side it's recommended to enable this setting for the full experience of eating magic mushrooms:

v1.4 released

  • Added tree and bush planters
  • Tree planters can be made in 8 materials - brick, clay, marble, pottery, sandstone, slate, stone and wood
  • Bush planters can be made in metal or wood
  • Tree/bush growth is controlled by new treeGrowthTicks setting - how many "field ticks" takes 1 stage of tree/bush planters to grow
    (e.g. if your fields grow every hour, 10 means trees will grow every 10 hours)
  • There are 6 stages .... sprout, young, growing, mature, old, very old
  • No overaged/shriveled, once they get to very old they will live forever
  • Every time it grows a stage (or would grow if it wasn't at max) - you can harvest it once and pick sprout once
  • Harvesting isn't controlled by normal seasons, can always do it
  • Tweaked planted planter names to be shorter and clearer
Note: If you used v1.4-beta1 and created any stone magic planters, they will say "birchwood stone" and look like wood. Those can be fixed by running "#planters fix" command as a GM level 5 - this will fix all affected planters on the server.

Is there any way for a GM to advance the growth of a tree in a planter? I've tried everything I know (looked for Grow with the ebony wand on the planter and on the tree itself, cast Wild Growth on the ground), but haven't found a way yet.

For those who has issues with server packs timing out client side(slow connections) and thus getting the ? bag graphics.
You can download the server mod , extract it and copy the planters-pack.jar over to your wurmclients /packs or /userpacks (Beta Branch) folder.

You can set data1 on the planter... 0 for sprout, 1 for young.... 5 for very old

Wild growth should probably work on them... but currently doesn't :P

  • Planted trees and bushes now have randomized rotation for less repetitive look

Hi bdew, one oddity I've experienced with the tree planters (specifically a marble tree planter, in my case) is that the tree in the planter can be chopped with a hatchet, but NOT with an axe.
